OROT seeks to enable children with diverse learning needs to attend Jewish day schools in the Philadelphia area. In considering applications, the Admissions Committee seeks to admit students whose needs can be most effectively met by the OROT program. Admission to OROT is independent of admission to any particular Jewish day school.
Admission to the program will be in September of each year. Applications are accepted throughout the year but are due by April 1st for admission the following September. Parents will be notified of the Committee’s decision by May 15th. Letters will be sent to all applying families notifying them of acceptance, provisional acceptance, or rejection. In the case of provisional acceptance or rejection, letters will explain the Admissions Committee’s decision. In some cases, admission to the program may be contingent upon the child receiving supplementary services beyond those provided by OROT such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, and/or psychological intervention. Host schools may help to provide information in accessing services and/or evaluations.
Admissions decisions are based solely on the ability of the OROT program to meet each child’s needs. Decisions are not based on financial considerations.
